Chris' Base BBQ Sauce

1 ounce = 2 Tbsp
1 Tbsp = 3 tsp.
1 quart = 4 cups
  • 2.5 quarts water
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 2 cups apple cider vinegar
  • 3.5 oz white sugar
  • 3.5 oz brown sugar
  • 1 tsp black pepper (pepper to taste)
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper (2 Tbsp if making hot sauce)
  • 1 Tbsp Salt (salt to taste)
  • Pinch of chili powder
  • Pinch of onion powder
  • Splash of Worcestershire sauce

Bring to a boil, then simmer for a bit stirring occasionally.

Pour liberally over freshly chopped or pulled pork, poultry, or beef.
